If you enjoy golf, have a valid WHS handicap and are already a member of the Royal British Club (RBC), the Royal British Club Golfing Society (RBCGS) is here to share the fun we have on the golf course with you. The Golf Society was inaugurated in 1974 and currently boasts around 70-80 playing members of many different nationalities. We are a vibrant group. Our annual calendar of events includes monthly sponsored competitions which, where possible, are played on the first Wednesday of the month (dependent on ‘feriados’ and other local fixtures). We mix Stableford events with a few challenging format twists which include a Four Club event, a Summer Texas Scramble and a dedicated Putter Competition. This year I do hope to tease your golfing appetite with a special Pitch and Putt Competition and a couple of “Away Games”. Included in this year’s calendar are four team events:
All our tournaments and all of our competitions this year are played during the week, in the morning and at our home course - the challenging Estoril Golf Club - followed by drinks and in most cases, a prize giving lunch in the Clubhouse Restaurant. One or two lunches and a dinner will take place in local restaurants and hotels this year. Our end of year tournament - The President’s Baffy and d’Árcy Orders Cup - is our ‘grand finale’ followed a Gala Dinner with many End of Year Prizes being awarded. |
